RedSail Technologies acquires PioneerRx

Spartanburg-based RedSail Technologies is set to acquire community pharmacy software provider PioneerRX LLC after a regulatory review.

PioneerRx’s customer service support software underscores the company’s commitment “to saving and revitalizing independent pharmacies,” according to the news release. The brand will join RedSail Technologies’ software suite including QS/1, Integra, PUBLIQ Software and PowerLine.

“Adding PioneerRx to our family of brands will help accelerate our efforts to develop one of the most clinically advanced and profitable pharmacy networks in the country,” Kraig McEwen, CEO of RedSail Technologies, said in the news release. “PioneerRx’s track record speaks for itself — tremendous growth, delighted customers and best-in-class service. We are thrilled for them to become part of the RedSail family.”

Jeff Key, CEO of PioneerRx, will continue to manage PioneerRx from its Irving, Texas, and Shreveport, La., locations, according to a news release. Goldman Sachs served as PioneerRx’s exclusive financial advisor during the transition. Alston and Bird LLP provided legal counsel to PioneerRx, while Kirkland and Ellis LLP served as RedSail Technologies’ legal counsel.
