Lexington Medical Center is opening a new community facility in Northeast Columbia on Tuesday.

(Image/Provided)Lexington Medical Center Northeast, located at 3016 Longtown Commons Drive, will offer urgent care, imaging services, and physical and occupational therapy. The first floor of the five-story, 225,000-square-foot building, the largest in the hospital’s network, will also feature meeting space and a cafe.

Lexington Medical Center specialists opening satellite offices at the center include Lexington Podiatry and Southeastern Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, which are slated to open March 15. Lexington Urology will open an office on April 1, while Lexington Medical Heart and Vascular Center is among the offices scheduled to open this summer.

“Lexington Medical Center Northeast improves access to care for patients in this community and enhances the services they receive from other Lexington Medical Center providers,” Tod Augsburger, Lexington Medical Center president and CEO, said in a news release. “This facility helps us meet the health care needs in a growing community and gives us the opportunity to provide a wider array of services for our patients.”

The center will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., with plans to add outpatient surgery and MRI services in the future.
