MacdonaldA Hanahan regional ambulance provider, MedTrust Holdings Inc., has named Lenna Macdonald as the company’s new CEO.

Macdonald will take over for Josh Watts, who will continue as an officer of the company and a board member, the company said in a news release.

MedTrust, which provides ambulance services in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, also appointed the former chairman and CEO of Force Protection Inc., Michael Moody, as independent chairman for the company.

“The resiliency of our whole team during the COVID-19 pandemic with the myriad of challenges and our providers’ focus every day on providing excellent care and showing compassion to our patients has been inspirational,” Macdonald said in a statement.

Macdonald, who joined the company in 2014, previously served as chief administrative officer. MedTrust said she was a critical part of the company’s growth over three states.

Before joining MedTrust, Macdonald had a 25-year career in several corporate roles, including executive, angel investor, board member and advisor, the company said. She holds a law degree from Emory University, a bachelor’s degree from Brown University, and she attended the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Moody, who has served as a board member with MedTrust since 2018, said the company has “a great business model and talented management team” that can strategically capitalize on an industry sector that’s seeing consolidation and changing service models and technology.
