On the Menu provides the latest news from the Charleston area’s culinary community, including new restaurants, new menu items and upcoming events, as well as details about local chefs. Submissions should be sent to

OpalOpal, at 1960 Riviera Drive, Suite C, in Mount Pleasant, is now open on Sundays. The dinner menu will be available starting at 4 p.m.

Staff from the Kimball House restaurant in Atlanta will take over The Bower at Edmund’s Oast, at 1081 Morrison Drive in Charleston, starting at 5:30 p.m. March 5. Matt Christison, Jesse Smith, Bryan Rackley, Miles Macquarrie and chef Jeffrey Wall will serve cocktails, an a la carte oyster bar and additional food items as part of a special menu.

CaviarCaviar & Bananas has expanded its prepared food menu to include items such as grilled herb turkey burgers, pecan-crusted chicken cutlets, roasted chicken pot pies, Thai noodle salad, hearts of palm cakes and quinoa veggie cakes. New side dishes and salads include artichoke peas and pesto pasta, farro salad with roasted sweet potatoes, lemon and feta orzo and Southwestern stuffed peppers.

Food is available for pickup, dine-in or delivery to locations in downtown Charleston.
