Airbnb expands Disaster Response Program to parts of South Carolina

In response to Hurricane Irma, Airbnb announced it would expand its Disaster Response Program to parts of South Carolina to help local residents who have been evacuated.


During major emergencies, the program allows residents who have been displaced, emergency relief workers and volunteers to find temporary housing with local Airbnb hosts who are willing to open their homes free of charge.


South Carolina communities eligible to take part in the program include:

  • Beaufort County

  • Colleton County

  • Jasper County

  • Greenville County

  • Spartanburg County

  • Rock Hill

  • Anderson County


Hosts interested in listing their properties free of charge can visit  These listings are available until Sept. 28. The hosts can decide how long they wish to list their homes during this time.
