Spirit Communications and Lumos Networks Corp., combined by EQT Partners in an April 2018 merger, have been rebranded as Segra.

The move spurs a notable change in Columbia, as Spirit Communications Park, home of the Columbia Fireflies, is changing its name to Segra Park as part of the rebranding.

“This new brand marks the official launch of a single company with a mission and a culture that are dedicated to providing winning solutions for our customers,” Segra CEO Timothy Blitz said in a news release. “We are looking forward to the opportunities this gives us to better serve our customers, our communities and our employees.”

The Fireflies said in a release that new signage for Segra Park will begin going up in the coming months. The minor league affiliate of the New York Mets opens its 2019 season against Charleston on April 4.

“We are excited to play such a big role in the launch of the Segra brand,” Fireflies president John Katz said. “We are excited for the new opportunities this brings to both organizations and will continue to deliver first-class, affordable family entertainment with Fireflies baseball and other events here at Segra Park.”
