Topgolf opens its doors at 9 a.m. Friday, April 26 near the Interstate 85 intersection with Pelham Road in Greenville. The new three-level, 55,000-square-foot venue is the company's 54th location and the second in South Carolina.
“Topgolf Greenville opens this Friday and we are so excited to serve the Greenville community meaningful experiences with friends and families,” director of operations Tyler McCarthy said in a news release. “We provided more than 350 jobs for the residents in this area and are looking forward to showcasing all of the wonderful things Topgolf has to offer."
A Topgolf location at the Venue on Main at 1624 Main St. in Columbia opened last fall.
Through play, food and beverage and music, Topgolf is a venue for golfers and non-golfers to get together for golf-related games. Point-scoring golf games use microchipped balls that instantly score themselves, showing players the accuracy and distance of their shots on a TV screen in their hitting bay, the news release said. Topgolf features big screen TVs, flexible private event spaces and music in climate-controlled hitting bays. Year-round programming includes events for kids and families, social leagues, groups, golf tournaments and instruction.
More than 350 full- and part-time workers have been hired for the location, the release said.
