The Columbia Fireflies will open the 2020 season on April 9 against the August GreenJackets at Segra Park.

That game is part of a seven-game homestead to kick off the Fireflies’ fifth season in Columbia. Opening night, which will feature a Thirsty Thursday beer special promotion, will be the first of three consecutive contest with post-game fireworks shows.

The 2020 schedule includes 20 fireworks shows and five giveaways.

“We are thrilled to release the first wave of 2020 promotional highlights,” Fireflies team president John Katz said in a news release. “Our first four seasons in Columbia have been fantastic, and we are excited to take our fan experience to the next level in 2020. Our fifth season is going to be the best yet, and more fantastic events will be announced as we get closer to the season.”

Weekday home games, with the exception of five day games, will begin at 7:05 p.m. Saturday games will begin at 7:05 p.m. Sunday games will start at 2:05 p.m. from April 9 through June 21 before switching to a 5:05 p.m. start time on June 25.

The 2020 schedule includes six Wag-Along Wednesdays in which dogs are welcome at Segra Park and 12 Thirsty Thursdays featuring half-price beer and fountain drinks. A Star Wars theme night is set for May 23, while the ZOOperstars! return July 4.
