Fluor Field hosts Aerospace Night flyover

Fluor Field is joining forces with the S.C. Council on Competitiveness and the SC Aerospace team to introduce new generations to innovations in the state’s aerospace industry.

During the Greenville Drive’s first pitch from Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at 7 p.m. on Friday, the venue will spotlight industry leaders and advancements during a family-friendly celebration, Aerospace Night.

“Aerospace Night is the most exciting addition to the Drive’s 2021 schedule, and we’re extremely excited to host such a unique and impactful event at Fluor Field – both this year and for years to come,” Jeff Brown, vice president of marketing and community partnerships with the Greenville Drive. “The aerospace industry is flourishing in our community and across South Carolina, and we can’t wait to use Drive Baseball and Fluor Field to shine a light on the leaders, companies, and organizations most responsible for its success.”

The event will begin with a pre-game flyover from the Prisma Health Medical Helicopter and an invitation-only VIP reception sponsored by ACL Airshop for state leaders in the industry, according to a news release. The council plans to expand upon these events in the years to come.

Lockheed Martin will host an interactive exhibit on the stadium concourse featuring the company’s work in Greenville, according to a news release. Other event sponsors include ACL Airshop, Lockheed Martin, Champion Aerospace, Stevens Aerospace & Defense Systems, Solar Atmospheres, Upstate SC Alliance and the South Carolina Technology & Aviation Center.

Tickets for the game start at $9 with gates opening at 6 p.m.

“We are extremely excited to celebrate the aerospace industry, and even more excited to do so at iconic Fluor Field, surrounded by those that make our industry great,” SC Aerospace Director Stephen Astemborski, said in the release. “Our 2020 impact study proves we have a lot to celebrate around the state, and we want to use this event to honor those industry leaders and employees, as well as educate the public on the incredible work being done and value being brought to the Palmetto State.”
