In the theme of Hughes Investments’ Italian-inspired village, Belladina’s Italian Market will move into a new home on Bridgeway Station’s Main Street in Mauldin.

The venue will expand upon its 50-year success at its first location in downtown Greenville to offer a full-service restaurant and pizzeria as well as a grocery market at the 6,013-square-foot retail space.

Owner Joseph Leccese cultivated his passion and expertise in Italian cuisine from his heritage and his father and business partner, Potito Leccese. Since moving from Italy to New York City at a young age, Potito has spent many years working in pizzerias, according to a news release. He opened his first pizzeria in 1983 in Maryland and has been refining his restaurant expertise ever since.

“We have a fairly aggressive but even more strategic plan for growth,” Leccese said in the release. “We like to think wherever there is a pizzeria, grocery store, pastaria, deli, etc., a Belladina’s needs to be there to bring true authenticity. We absolutely love Mauldin, and it has been on our radar for a while now but just haven’t found the right location until now. Phil (Hughes) and the group are absolutely amazing to work with, and with every conversation had, we fell more and more in love with the project.”
