Stomping Grounds Coffee and Wine Bar
The coffee bar and café on Trade Street in Greer will celebrate Ireland’s patron saint a day early with a traditional Irish music session today led by The Skeeziks.
The session, held every first and third Wednesday in the month, will last from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is open to Irish or Scottish folk musicians or listening ears.
House brews, ice cream and Italian sodas aside, the café serves up a variety of sandwich and salad offerings including gyros, grilled pimento paninis and SG Club, according to the website.
Patrick Linnane, a native of Galway, Ireland, and owner of Greenville’s The Irish Pub and Kitchen, will serve up a taste of his home country with a St. Patrick’s Day bash starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Bagpipers and Irish dancers will put on a performance, followed by local rockers The Barley Boys from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The pub kitchen will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with Shepherd’s Pie, fish and chips, Guinness beer brat and curry chips — or fries, if you will — just a few items on the menu.
Linnane and kitchen chef Lisa Linnane will also sell St. Patrick’s Day T-shirts for $25 in support of American Red Cross Ukraine, according to the pub website.
McGee’s Scot-Irish Pub and Restaurant
Downtown Anderson’s resident Irish pub has prepped 250 pounds of mashed potatoes, 360 pounds of corned beef and 10 kegs of Guinness in preparation for its Thursday hooley.
The pub will start serving lunch at 11 a.m. and remain open “’til the last Paddy leaves,” according to their website.
Irish balladeer T.J. Lanaghan will play throughout the day, followed by the Steady Hand String Band on the pub patio from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
