More staff means more access to cool-down opportunities

Like almost everyone else, Charleston County Parks has to look harder to find staff these days. What’s good for everyone else is they have been successful.

With increased staffing comes increased access to Splash Island and Splash Zone waterparks.

Splash Island will now be open on Sunday afternoons, and Splash Zone will open its Lazy River. Both parks will also be open on Monday, July 4.

Splash Island Waterpark at Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park, starting July 3 will be open on Sundays 1-6 p.m. It will be open for the July 4 holiday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The park will continue its Wednesday-Saturday schedule all summer, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Lazy River at Splash Zone Waterpark at James Island County Park, will be open starting today. It will continue through the summer from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday, and 1-6 p.m. on Sundays.

Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark continues normal operations for the summer, open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
