Art on State event returns to West Columbia

The City of West Columbia will holds its fifth annual Art on State from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight  Friday, May 5 on the 100-200 blocks of State Street in conjunction with the State Street Art Crawl.

Visitors will have the opportunity to shop at locally-owned stores and with arts and crafts vendors, and also listen to live music from 20 Ride, a Zach Brown tribute band, as well as musicians Marcus Gullen and Reggie Sullivan. Food and drinks will be from local restaurants will be available, as well as artists painting live on the street. There will also be sidewalk chalk art opportunities for children to enjoy.

Local artists painting murals on the street and offering other live demonstrations include Alicia Leeke, Autumn Lily Leaphart, Colleen Dwyer, Dylan Fouste, Kristin Holzer and Shaina Manuel.

Other demonstrations will be offered by BA Hohman, Laura Day, local blacksmith Conal Smith, and Kate Batten who will offer free caricatures.

Local craft beer will be available from vendors such as Savage Craft Ale Works and WECO Bottle and Biergarten. Local food for sale will be available from The Hideout in WeCo, Breakfast at Ruiz, D’s Wings, New Brookland Tavern, State Street Pub, Haute Dog Lady, Tacos Oink Oink, Cox Family BBQ and Truly Scrumptious Creamery.
