The Women’s Rights & Empowerment Network will hold its second annual WREN Summit beginning Monday at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The theme of this year’s summit is Women’s Economic Empowerment. The two-day event will bring together professionals, policymakers, advocates and researchers to identify strategies for achieving greater economic empowerment and equity in South Carolina.

On Monday, a list of speakers including Supreme Court Justice Kaye G. Hearn will address topics including encouraging women’s entrepreneurialism, closing the wealth gap and building salary negotiation skills.

On Tuesday, WREN will play host to a gubernatorial candidate forum at the USC Alumni Center. Phil Noble, Rep. James Smith, Catherine Templeton and Marguerite Willis are confirmed attendees and will address issues affecting S.C women and families.

The forum is open to the public. Advance registration is required at www.scwren.org/wren-annual-summit/.
