The Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce will launch Spartanburg 101 in May. Spartanburg 101 is a talent retention tool designed in response to employer needs and will educate participants on Spartanburg’s live, work and play amenities, and help newcomers and interested residents to become well-informed and engaged community members, according to a news release.

Spartanburg 101 will be offered twice a year and consists of three sessions, initially slated for May 16, May 30 and June 13. Businesses may also request individual customized sessions. Registration is available online.

“Talent is the primary issue facing our business community, so it’s important that we have tools available to attract potential employees to Spartanburg, and that we commit resources to engaging those employees upon arrival,” said John Kimbrell, executive vice president at the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, in the release. “Programs like Spartanburg 101 are crucial in helping companies retain their investment in new hires.”
