An app used to pinpoint homes on the local real estate market and connect potential buyers to agents will flex its muscles for the first time in the Greenville market.

The app, called Quitchet, will be uploaded with listings from the 3,300-member Greater Greenville Association of Realtors, which users can browse through based on desired features and locations. The app’s automated system allows potential buyers to schedule a showing and offer immediate feedback to sellers, according to a news release.

“The market has desperately missed a seamless interface that connects all parties involved in residential real estate,” Bob Morgan, CEO and president of Quitchet, said in the release. “That is where Quitchet comes from. It is an app and website that serves the needs of customers and agents simultaneously through a comprehensive experience. Simplifying the entire process is the key.”

Morgan first created the app, which was further developed by software company DevObal Technologies with Greenville’s Kopis stepping in for ongoing support. An expansion of the app is planned for additional areas across the country with a goal of reaching four new markets by the conclusion of 2021, according to the release.

“Quitchet was a unique opportunity and project for our firm,” Andrew Kurtz, CEO of Kopis, said in the release. “We are excited to see a national project start right in our own back yard.”

The SCRA’s SCLaunch program also had a hand in the app’s ascent. The program was created 14 years ago to extend mentoring, grants and investment to promising startups across the Palmetto State.

“We have seen the progress that the company has made and we were pleased that we could provide them an Acceleration Grant, which has led to their latest market-ready program that has so many features that brings together buyers, sellers, inspectors, attorneys and all parties that are required to complete a real estate transaction,” Steven Johnson, interim director and investment manager of S.C. Launch, said in the release. “We expect great things from Quitchet as they grow and expand.”
