Multiple reports of counterfeit bills used in Greenville

Listen to this articlePolice investigators are warning merchants that there have been at least four cases of counterfeit money being passed in Greenville’s Central Business District of over the last week.
The counterfeit $100 bills look very similar to legal tender but include the words “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” on the front of the bill and “FOR CINEMATIC USE ONLY” on the back of the bill. Also, the words “COPY” are clearly visible on both sides of the fake bill, according to a news release.
Business owners are encouraged to educate employees to be on the lookout for these fake bills by showing them the picture of the counterfeit $100 bills.
Individuals should immediately contact the Greenville Police Department if anyone attempts to use a counterfeit bill or if they have information to help investigators arrest the suspects in these cases at 864-271-5333 or 23-CRIME.
