The South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance has recognized 104 industrial facilities across the state for workplace safety accomplishments in 2018.
Facilities with a low rate of incidents resulting in lost workdays, job transfers or restrictions were nominated for recognition. Plants submitting an incidence rate below the statewide average for their North American Industry Classification System code received an award during the 2019 South Carolina Safety Summit, according to a news release.
"The companies who earn this award are held to very high standards," Sara Hazzard, president and CEO of the S.C. Manufacturers Alliance, said in the release. "Strong company cultures recognize that their most valuable assets are their associates and that safe working environments is a collaborative and constant necessity every day. We are proud to honor so many South Carolina facilities for their commitment and achievements in safety excellence."
