Stoll Industries, a producer of custom metal fireplace doors, screens, metal wall panels and countertops, is investing $1.1 million in an expansion in Abbeville County that is expected to create 30 jobs over the next five years, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.

"At Stoll Industries, we believe our mission to our community and country is to be intentional in our actions, building an environment of honesty and faith that creates a platform for God in the workplace." Darris Stoll, operations manager, said in a news release.

The company is planning a 17,000-square-foot expansion to its facility at 153 Highway 201 in Abbeville to create space for additional production areas for new products, the release said. The expansion is expected to be finished in January.

“It's always a pleasure to hear about a long-standing Abbeville business announcing an expansion,” Harold Prince, Abbeville County Council chairman, said in the release. “Stoll Industries is an important part of our community and an ambassador in spreading the name of Abbeville County as an area where businesses can flourish. They continue to provide new job opportunities. For that, we are grateful and wish them continued success."

Stoll Industries has been in business 50 years and is operated by the third generation of the Stoll family.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $100,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Abbeville County to assist with costs related to the project.
