Monti Inc. will deliver 16 new jobs to Greenwood County with a $4.7 million investment, according to an announcement from the S.C. Commerce Department.
Monti is an industrial manufacturer, fabricator, powder coater, epoxy coater and specialized processor of electrical distribution components. The company said the expansion will create its third location in Greenwood County.
Monti serves electrical distribution original equipment manufacturers and service providers with a range of electrical industry components including insulators, conductors and steel parts, the news release said.
Expanding at 211 Joe Bernat Drive in Greenwood, the 86,501-square-foot facility will provide the space required to grow manufacturing capabilities to service the Southeast, according to the release.
“This expansion is a testament to Monti’s purpose to defy the odds and will continue to be the driving force of our company culture and legacy,” Molly Fender, vice president of human resources for Monti, said in the release. “We pride ourselves on our family owned and operated history, and that sentiment is spread throughout all levels of the organization. Monti recognizes that teamwork is the key to workplace success, and we look forward to adding to our ever-growing team in the Greenwood area.”
Hiring is expected to start in the third quarter of 2022.
“We congratulate Monti on their fourth expansion in the past six years, adding to their footprint and capabilities in our community,” Greenwood County Council Chairman Chuck Moates said in the release. “There is no better testament to the positive business environment and talented workforce found in Greenwood County than continued existing industry growth."
Monti’s second Greenwood facility opened its doors in November 2020 to expand its epoxy automated line and add newly installed copper punching and press brake machines. In addition to the two existing Greenwood facilities, Monti also has a plant is Sumter and two on Cincinnati, Ohio.
