A $5.9 million expansion by a Lexington County boat builder is expected to create 50 jobs.
Lexington-headquartered Bentley Pontoons’ expansion of its facility at 1650 Two Notch Road will increase production and capacity to meet demand, according to a news release from Central SC Alliance.
“Bentley Pontoons is thrilled to be expanding operations in South Carolina and greatly appreciates the support from the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Lexington County Department of Economic Development through this entire process,” Ryan Marcott, company president, said in the release.
The company manufactures many of its own boat components, including furniture, canvas work, tubes and fence railing.
The expansion is expected to be completed in June. Information on job openings is available on the company’s contact page at https://bentleypontoons.com/contact-us.
“We are excited that Bentley Pontoons has decided to grow their operations here in Lexington County,” Lexington County Council Chair Scott Whetstone said. “This expansion will provide more job opportunities for our residents and more economic growth for our county moving forward.”
