Larkin's donates to turkey fry event for Miracle Hill

Larkin’s Restaurants and Sysco Columbia got together to help make possible the "Great Possible Turkey Fry" for Miracle Hill Ministries. Together they donated 216 turkeys, 10 cases of green beans, aprons, foil, salt and pepper shakers, trash can liners, towels, gloves, to-go containers, foil lids and more.

“Everyday our goal is to make people happy through feeding them a great meal,” said Larkin Hammond, of Larkin’s Restaurants, in a news release. “This time of year, especially for us, that means providing — not just serving — a great meal to hundreds of people who otherwise wouldn’t have the means for one. We are honored to have this opportunity to support Miracle Hill in their efforts to feed those in need and are so grateful to Sysco Columbia for their help supporting this great event."

November is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month. On Nov. 21, Miracle Hill and volunteers will fry and smoke 500 turkeys and prepare side dishes to feed the guests in their nine shelters, as well as families in need in the Upstate. Volunteers are welcome.
