The Soul of Philanthropy multimedia exhibition will kick off its three-month stay in Columbia with an opening celebration on Saturday at the Richland Library’s main branch.
The exhibition, inspired by Valaida Fullwood’s award-winning book Giving Back: A Tribute to Generations of African-American Philanthropists, showcases the African-American community’s rich tradition of charitable giving and raises awareness of philanthropy in all communities.
A public reception will be held from 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at 1431 Assembly Street.
The interactive exhibition, a partnership between the Central Carolina Community Foundation, Richland Library and the Women’s Giving Circle, will run through May 6.
