The Bon Secours Wellness Arena has launched a new community engagement initiative called STAGE — Serving Together: Arena’s Giving Experience. With a new brand and a renewed focus, STAGE will pull together many of the activities the arena has been doing for years, according to a news release.

“Over the last 20 years, the Upstate community has continually embraced and enriched the arena,” Beth Paul, general manager, said in the release. “This support has allowed us to thrive and be recognized as a premier destination for the biggest names in music, sports and live entertainment. In appreciation, we’ve dedicated ourselves as a staff and as an organization to give back to our community through our STAGE program.”

In the last two years, the arena has:

  • hosted 300 nonprofit/community events, including Skate, Roll and Stroll for disabled community members to skate on the big ice with their friends and family, along with special assistance devices;
  • donated more than $100,000 in event space to local nonprofits for their cultivation and fundraising events, and
  • donated nearly 600 event tickets to nonprofits for their use or charity auctions.

The arena will continue these programs, inviting all nonprofits in the area to consider the arena as a partner in fulfilling their missions.

The arena also has developed new partnerships with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville and Loaves & Fishes as part of its inaugural STAGE Partners program. Each nonprofit is partnering with the arena on special projects and will benefit from fundraising efforts related to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra performances on Dec. 7, the release said.
