The Winkler Group will host a free, two-part webinar series for nonprofit organizations at 11 a.m. Tuesday and at the same time Aug. 10. The live webinar series, “Turning Disruption into Opportunity: The Tools You Need for a Strategic Plan That Works” will be 30 minutes long. Registrants will receive a copy of the presentation if they are unable to attend either session.

S.C. First Steps has awarded its largest funding amount in more than 15 years — $17,664,476 in grants to its network of 46 local First Steps partnerships.

A combination of state, federal and private dollars, the funds will directly impact more than 30,000 children and will expand parenting programs, increase the quality of child care, support positive transitions between early childhood and elementary school, and improve the health of South Carolina’s children.

First Steps is also recruiting applicants across the state for a 10-month term of AmeriCorps service beginning Sept. 3.

Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina has awarded $685,000 to 37 nonprofit organizations in the Tri-County region that are Black-led and/or Black-serving.

This is part of an effort funded by Facebook to support innovation, creativity and resiliency in Black communities. About three-quarters of the funding supports Black-led organizations, while the remainder supports organizations serving populations that are at least 51% Black.

In addition to financial resources, the foundation will offer support to help these grantees build their capacity to seek new and sustainable funding.
