Postpartum Support Charleston is partnering with Mount Pleasant restaurant Post House for a fundraiser supporting its new program, Beyond Delivery, an initiative providing new moms in the Charleston area with basic necessities and support as they head home from the hospital with their infant.

Lasagna Night at Post House will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 9. A limited number of tickets are available for $100 each.

Guests will enjoy an evening of lasagna, red wine and a silent auction.


The Edisto Island Open Land Trust is hosting Shellabration, a 10-day, online fundraiser replacing its annual oyster roast.

Now through Oct. 30, individuals and businesses can make contributions to help reach the land trust’s goal of raising $15,000 to support ongoing conservation efforts.

Every donor will be entered into a drawing for an Edisto Island Land Trust merchandise prize package. Raffle themes include fishing, beverages and seafood, with prizes of Toadfish merchandise, fishing and shrimping charters, cookware and seasonings.


Berkeley County First Steps, Charleston County First Steps and Dorchester County First Steps have received a $198,000 grant from S.C. First Steps to support the agencies’ Tri-County Play Collaborative initiative over a period of two years.

Tri-County Play Collaborative brings together Tri-County First Steps with the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry, local libraries and cultural institutions to offer primary caregivers of young tri-county children free or low-cost access to museums, theaters, aquarium, historical sites and nature centers.


The Gibbes Museum of Art has been announced as the recipient of the 2021 Southeastern Museums Conference Gold Award in the Annual Reports category for the 2020 Annual Report.

The Southeastern Museums Conference Publication Design Competition showcases the best in graphic design and provides benchmarks for regional publication efforts in southeastern museums.

The Gibbes’ 2020 Annual Report, recapping the institution’s successes and struggles from July 2019 to June 2020, was edited by the museum’s director of development, Jennifer Ross, and designed by the museum’s creative director, Erin Banks.
