Erin Ford appointed to District Export Council

Erin Ford, executive vice president of SCBio, has been appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce to serve on the S.C. District Export Council.

Ford, among 1,500 other district export council members across the country, will coordinate with exporters and export service providers to help promote U.S. economic growth and trade, according to a news release. South Carolina’s council makes up one of 61 district councils across the country. Appointed members serve for two years with a renewable appointment for the next two years.

District Export Council“Erin is a strong and forward-thinking leader for the SCBio organization and South Carolina’s life sciences industry, and we are pleased that her contributions to our state are being recognized with this important appointment,” Sam Konduros, president and CEO of SCBio, said in the release. “With her efforts and leadership, South Carolina and SCBio should benefit greatly from the rapidly growing export economy here in the Palmetto State.”

Ford directs SCBio’s business operations and finances, investor relations and existing industry strategies among other responsibilities across its Greenville, Charleston and Columbia offices. Previously, she served as a sales and marketing executive at polymer manufacturer Poly-Med, a business recruitment officer at Upstate SC Alliance and member of SCBio’s board of directors, according to the release.
