Two tenants of a new Travelers Rest mixed-use redevelopment project located at the city’s first stop on the Swamp Rabbit Trail opened on April 27.

Coldwell Banker Caine’s Travelers Rest Gallery and The Community Tap’s third location will be joined by Resident Diner.

The diner, originally slated to occupy the former Hare and Field space at 327 S. Main St., is nearing completion and will announce a separate opening date, according to a news release.

The development includes a central all-weather, common area with green space, various seating options, bike racks, and options for live music that connects the building now occupied by The Community Tap and CB Caine to the new Resident Diner, the news release said. An additional shipping container food vendor facing the green space is also in the works.

“We’re thrilled to open our doors to the community and give Travelers Rest residents and its many visitors another great place to enjoy the best the Upstate has to offer,” Stephen Edgerton, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker Caine, said in the release.

The Travelers Rest Gallery will be open to guests of the bar and restaurant and serve as a meeting space for the company to welcome potential customers.

The new Tap location features 20 taps, eight additional beer by-the-glass options, 14 by-the-glass wines and curated selection of bottled wines and beers. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will also be available. Inside, the Tap has bar and table seating for 30, an additional 54 seats outside on the covered patio and flexible green space.

Community Tap co-owners Ed Buffington and Mike Okupinski say their team is ready to serve the growing Travelers Rest community.

“This third location is the culmination of everything we’ve learned over the last nearly 13 years, and we couldn’t be more excited to provide TR with our brand of hospitality,” co-owner Mike Okupinski said in the release.
