National ice cream company to open distribution center in Columbia

Hershey Creamery Co., the producer of Hershey’s Ice Cream, has leased property to open a distribution center in northeast Columbia.

Bruce Harper, managing Partner of Trinity Partners, represented the landlord and facilitated the long-term lease of an industrial property located at 10125 Farrow Road.

The tenant, Hershey Creamery Co., headquartered in Harrisburg, Pa., was represented by Tyler Smith of Jones Lang LaSalle. The 8,600-square-foot property included a freestanding office and warehouse building.

The Hershey Creamery Company was founded in 1894 by Jacob Hershey and his four brothers: Isaac, Paris, Ephraim and Eli Hershey (no relation to Milton S. Hershey of the Hershey Co.).

Hershey Creamery produces a wide range of hand-dipped, packaged and soft serve ice cream as well as novelty products sold in ice cream parlors, convenience stores, grocery stores and other locations. The company’s products can currently be found in 33,000 stores in 39 states.
