The median price of homes sold during August in South Carolina was $184,789, according to a monthly report from the S.C. Association of Realtors. That’s a 5.7% increase from August 2015.
The Hilton Head area reported the highest price at $301,670 last month, while Southern Midlands reported the lowest at $97,500, the report said.
A total of 7,408 homes, condos and villas sold in August across the state, which is a 9.3% increase from the same month in 2015. Those homes were on the market an average of 91 days before sale, the report said.
New listings were up 10.2% from August 2015 to 10,064 last month, while pending sales increased nearly 2% to 6,678 last month, according to the report.
Home inventory continues to be a problem, dropping 5.9% to 36,099 in August. That leaves a 5.6-month supply of inventory, which is a 9.7% drop from August 2015, the report said.
