Assisted living facility opens in Northeast Columbia

A new assisted living facility has opened in Northeast Columbia.

Watercrest Columbia Assisted Living and Memory Care is a 107-unit, resort-style senior living community located at 1951 Clemson Road. The facility is a project of Florida-based Watercrest Senior Living Group and Titan Development Real Estate Fund I.

Watercrest Columbia offers 75 assisted living and 32 memory care apartments. Community amenities include a spa, a wine bistro with private-label libations and a private dining room. A market street plaza provides a multisensory outdoor streetscape designed to facilitate memory care.

The community also features a children’s play space, a promenade and a pool.

“We are thankful for our partners at Titan and for the tremendous support of the Columbia community in the development of this exceptional senior living residence,” Marc Vorkapich, principal and CEO of Watercrest Senior Living Group, said in a news release. “We are thrilled to welcome residents to their now home.”

Watercrest Columbia is one of two joint venture projects between Watercrest and Titan Development, which has offices in New Mexico and Texas. The second, Watercrest Winter Park Assisted Living and Memory Care, is under construction in Winter Park, Fla.

Titan Development Real Estate Fund I is a $200 million private equity real estate fund established in 2017 to raise and invest equity in Titan Development’s investment opportunities.

In other area real estate developments:

Colliers International’s Chuck Salley, Thomas Beard and John Peebles represented Carolina Industrial Properties in a 10-year lease extension for Alpha Media at 1900 Pineview Road in Columbia. The Colliers team procured the sale of the 10,320-square-foot office building from iHeartMedia Inc. Tenant Alpha Media is a radio station holding company that operates nearly 200 U.S. radio stations.
