Kiki’s Chicken and Waffles opening second location

Kiki’s Chicken and Waffles will open its second Columbia location Tuesday in the Harbison area.

The restaurant, founded in 2012 by Kitwanda “Kiki” Smith-Cyrus, will open at 1260 Bower Parkway, Suite 8-A. The location will join its soul food counterpart at 7001 Parkland Road.

Known for its signature dish of four seasoned chicken wings atop a Belgian waffle, the restaurant also features menu items such as smothered pork chops, shrimp and grits and salmon patties, with a red velvet waffle with cream cheese icing for dessert. The venue, owned by Smith-Cyrus and husband Tyrone Cyrus, also plays host to entertainment events including live jazz and open mic nights.

Smith-Cyrus has been honored by Southeast Small Business Magazine in 2014 and as a South Carolina Chef Ambassador in 2018. Kiki’s Chicken and Waffles has been visited by famous clientele including former first lady Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Joe Biden and gospel singing legend Marvin Winans.
