Mobile car care company Get Spiffy Inc. has launched its second S.C. franchise in Columbia. The move comes a little more than a week after Spiffy began operations in Greenville, and the company plans to launch in Charleston by the end of the year, according to a news release.

Founded in 2014 in Raleigh, Spiffy offers mobile car wash, detail and oil change services using significantly less water than a traditional car wash, along with environmentally friendly products and reclamation protocols for all water, soap and supplies. Those practices have led to 10 million gallons of water saved to date and more than 50,000 gallons of oil recycled per month, according to the release.

Spiffy began operating in Greenville June 1. Among the franchise’s co-owners is Paul Clark, VentureSouth managing director, who invested in Spiffy during a July 2018 round of fundraising. Clark, Dan Haight, and Steve and Connie Lanzl signed on as the S.C. franchise group in January 2021.

“It’s been a treat to work with Paul, Connie, Steve, and Dan as they launch our South Carolina franchise locations,” Spiffy CEO Scot Wingo said in the release. “I’m from Aiken, South Carolina, originally, and am really excited to see this team take off and keep up with how local customers respond to their efforts in Columbia and across the state.”

Customers can book Spiffy’s mobile maintenance services for their home, office or vehicle at https://www.getspiffy.com.

“Given Spiffy's track record providing car care services across the country, it was a fairly safe bet to launch in Columbia,” Clark said. “It’s no question that people want their cars cleaned; they don’t want to hang out in the quick lube shop or service dealership to get their car maintained. It's hard to find a franchisor quite like Spiffy in terms of technology, ability to execute, and the flexibility to rely on our knowledge as locals to experiment and see what works with our customers.”
