Lowes Foods will hold a virtual vendor summit on Sept. 28 in order to find new local products to feature in its stores.

During the online meeting, local entrepreneurs will be able to meet with decision makers from the chain who purchase products sold in the stores, according to a press release from Lowes Foods.

The company is seeking products in a range of categories including beverages and food, household essentials, and baby, beauty, personal care and pet products. To qualify, the product must be made in North or South Carolina, the company must be headquartered in the Carolinas, and the company must have insurance.

“Lowes Foods is always looking for new products from the Carolinas to offer in our stores, and we would love to hear about additional products that are available,” said Jason Ramsey, executive vice president of merchandising for Lowes Foods. “We’ve been doing vendor fairs for many years, and they’ve helped us bring new local products to Lowes Foods. This year, it will be easier than ever for local vendors because the meeting is virtual.”

RangeMe, an online platform that streamlines new product discovery between suppliers and retailers, is coordinating the submission process for Lowes Foods. Online submissions will be accepted until Aug. 25 at https://www.rangeme.com/lowesfoodinnovation.

Founded in 1954, Lowes Foods operates more than 80 full-service supermarkets in the Carolinas and has a history of supporting local farmers and vendors. The company has three stores in the Midlands at 4711 Forest Drive in Forest Acres, 120 Forum Drive in the Village at Sandhill, and 5222 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington.
