SIOS Technology to open research center at USC

SIOS Technology Corp., which makes software that applies artificial intelligence to improve information technology services, is opening a research and development facility at the University of South Carolina.

The facility, to be located in USC’s College of Engineering and Computing, will focus on collaborative research in AI and machine learning. USC engineering students and faculty will work with up to 30 company employees, the university said in a news release.

SIOS Technology, based in San Mateo, Calif., chose to locate the R&D center at USC because of its academic reputation as well as a company technology officer who graduated from the university, according to the release.
