SIOS Technology Corp. has selected Columbia-based data recovery service Immedion LLC as its colocation provider for its new research and development facility at the University of South Carolina.

SIOS, a software solutions provider, officially celebrated the new R&D center on June 22. It is outsourcing some information technology infrastructure to Immedion, according to a news release, to support production systems for its IT development and testing lab.

Immedion performed the initial gear configuration for the new SIOS office at the M. Bert Storey Engineering and Innovation Center at 550 Assembly St., the release said.

Immedion operates eight data centers in South Carolina, North Carolina, Indiana and Ohio.

“We are looking forward to further strengthening our partnership with SIOS,” said Tommy Crutchfield, general manager of Immedion’s Columbia location. “Their products are vital to the success of many in the world of IT, and we are proud to support the operations of such a leading organization.”
