The city of Greenville is developing a Downtown Transportation Master Plan to identify strategies that will improve mobility, traffic circulation and safety downtown.

The master plan will incorporate alternate modes of transportation and will include a short-term plan for improvements that can be made within two to five years and a long-term plan for the safe and efficient movement of traffic over the next 10 years and beyond, according to a news release.

The study area includes the central business district as well as major corridors that feed into downtown.

A public meeting has been scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. July 26 at Greenville City Hall. The project team will provide an overview of the plan, discuss the work that has been done so far and provide attendees with an opportunity to share their experiences and input, according to the news release.

A survey also has been developed for public input and can be found online. The deadline to participate is July 23.
