Canal Insurance will sponsor the sixth annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day in Greenville.

The event was organized to give the community an opportunity to express thanks to law enforcement personnel in Greenville County, including those who work for the cities, according to a news release.

This year’s appreciation day is scheduled for May 8.

“Canal insurance is proud to be a LEAD Greenville sponsor, as this event is dedicated to honoring the exemplary service our communities receive on a daily basis,” Canal CEO and President Paul Brocklebank said in the news release. “We are excited to help dedicate a week to express gratitude for law enforcement and the integral role these individuals play in our society. We are especially thankful that we have an opportunity to intentionally honor the men and women who serve the highway patrol, as they ensure that Canal’s insureds are protected on the road.”

Seabrook Marchant, founder of the event in Greenville and president of Marchant Real Estate, said she is proud to see the growth of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

“What started as an appreciative breakfast at Tommy’s Ham House, has flourished into a large and engaging community movement,” she said in the release. “This is so much more than an event. It signifies our community coming together with eagerness to serve, and the compassion to give. Canal’s positive influence not only expands throughout Greenville but also nationwide, so we will not soon forget their sponsorship and support.”
