Upstate Forever and Heart of Boiling Springs, in partnership with Toole Design Group, have scheduled a series of community vision workshops to develop a shared, community-driven vision for Boiling Springs. Area residents, businesses and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend. Upstate Forever and Heart of Boiling Springs are working in partnership with Spartanburg County.

The workshops will be held on Thursday March 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Thursday April 26, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

“We are hopeful that the guiding principles developed during the visioning process will help lay the groundwork for future county area performance planning for the central planning area,” said Spartanburg County Council District 2 Rep. Justin Bradley, in a news release. According to a county website, area performance planning is about protecting property owners and Spartanburg County’s cultural, historical and natural destinations, while simultaneously encouraging sound economic growth.

Sherry Barrett, community design and land planning manager for Upstate Forever, said the workshops will provide participants an opportunity to “think critically about the place they love and call home, and to explore how it might become even more beloved in the future.”
