5th Street Group’s new restaurant, Tempest, held its grand opening Friday. The menu was curated by Adam Hodgson and Jamie Lynch, who has appeared on two seasons of Bravo’s cooking competition television show Top Chef.
The menu includes South Atlantic seafood, a raw and charcoal roast menu, small bites and main courses.
Springbok Coffee Roasters is offering a free barista training course to all of its wholesale partners.
The course takes place at the Springbok roasting lab at 708 King St. in downtown Charleston. There are two levels of classes, each including 3 1/2 hours of lecture and hands-on training with equipment. The course covers the history of coffee, different types of processing, factors that impact flavor profiles, espresso, steaming milk, and dialing in espresso shots on grinders and espresso machines.
