On the Menu provides the latest news from the Charleston area’s culinary community, including new restaurants, new menu items and upcoming events, as well as details about local chefs. Submissions should be sent to [email protected].

Edmund’s Oast Exchange is scheduled to host a Meditative Wine Tasting from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Ayurvedic health counselor Caryn O’Hara and certified sommelier Sarah O’Kelley will lead the seasonal meditation wine tasting.

The exchange is also now hosting Fancy Wine Happy Hours from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Friday.

Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. is scheduled to host a Yoga Love Class and Happy Hour at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 14. The event includes a one-hour yoga session in the brewing room, followed by a free beer and happy hour deals. Tickets are $15 per person.

Edmund’s Oast is celebrating its fourth anniversary with the following events:  

  • Half-price on menu favorites on Monday. The most popular dishes and drinks of the year, including executive chef Bob Cook’s salt chicken and grilled octopus, will be half off.
  • Beer with Friends at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 13. Brewers will be pouring beers via an a la carte menu.
  • Valentine’s Day menu on Feb. 14. The menu includes a two-pound Angus ribeye or a whole fish for two. Bottles of 2009 Dom Perignon will be $140, bottles of 2014 Shafer One Point Five cabernet sauvignon will be $75 and bottles of 2015 Kistler Vineyards Les Noisetiers chardonnay will be $55. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 843-727-1145.

The Glass Onion is scheduled to offer a Valentine’s Day menu on Feb. 14. The menu will include a glass of sparkling wine; soup or salad; ribeye or whole fish for two; and dessert, for $50 a couple. Reservations are recommended for dinner and may be made by calling 843-225-1717.


The seventh annual Charleston Beer Garden, which is scheduled for noon to 7 p.m. May 19 at The Grove at Patriots Point, is now offering brew passes. The passes include general festival admission plus a commemorative brew pass glass and unlimited 2- to 3-ounce tasting from all breweries. Brew passes are $75.
