Stars Rooftop & Grill Room, located at 495 King St. in downtown Charleston, has new dinner, happy hour and brunch menus. The menus are a collaboration between the restaurant’s executive chef, Ivan Aguila, and sous chefs Hikeem Reaves and Elizabeth Riley.

New menu items include butter-poached lobster with sherry, tomato, basil and focaccia; and wood-grilled ribeye with crushed new potatoes. Some original dishes, such as bacon cheddar tots and oysters bingo will remain on the menu.

The new summer bites and happy hour drink menu will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the grill room or on the Stars rooftop. The summer bites menu is also available on the rooftop from noon to 5 p.m. Friday. The menu includes lobster rolls and Stars’ burger sliders.

Brunch will be available from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday in the grill room. The menu includes pulled pork hash and lobster rolls.


The virtual Charleston Beer Fest will take place at 6 p.m. July 16. Hosted by Yelp, the festival will include local breweries and crafters sharing insights and trends about beer culture.

Participants can tune in to the event by visiting the festival’s Instagram accountThe Brew Cellar in Park Circle will be selling a curated six-pack that will include beers from participating breweries for this event. The beers will be available for purchase Monday through from July 16.

The in-person Charleston Beer Fest is still planned for Sept. 26, hosted by Palmetto Community Care, an organization supporting those living with HIV.
