Edmund’s Oast Exchange is hosting three Somm School 2.0 classes during July. The classes are the next level of the Exchange’s Somm School series. Certified sommelier Sarah O’Kelley will host the following classes:

Tickets are $30. Food and beverage workers can receive a 50% discount.


Shem Creek restaurant Saltwater Cowboys, at 130 Mill St., is hosting a Red White and View party on Wednesday.

Tickets are $75 per person, and guests have access to the rooftop plus an open bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres. For $25 per person, guests will have reserved seating at an outside lower deck table, live music, a free bottle of sparkling wine for the table and party favors.

Reservations must be paid in advance. Reservations can be made by calling 207-251-2670.


Rusty Bull Brewing and Swig & Swine are hosting a pig pickin’ from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday at the brewery, in Suite 100 at 3005 W. Montague Ave. in North Charleston. Swig & Swine will roast a pig and offer plates with two sides for $12. The event will also include live music from Mike Huhn starting at 7 p.m.
