Sticky Fingers Ribhouse is offering $5.26 off Sticky Fingers Express Meals while the Interstate 526 bridge over the Wando River is closed. Express Meals include any combination of pork ribs, smoked chicken and pulled pork plus a pint of barbecue baked beans, homemade coleslaw and a bottle of Sticky Fingers Memphis original barbecue sauce.


The 2nd annual Southern Fried Chicken Challenge is scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at the North Charleston Riverfront Park. Local and regional chefs and restaurants will compete to see who has the best Southern fried chicken. This year, culinary students from Charleston County School District will also compete. The 2017 winner was Salthouse Catering.

VIP tickets purchased before Friday are $55 each and $65 afterward. VIP tickets include 10 tasting tickets, a swag bag and access to a VIP area with an open bar and a TV playing the day’s college football games. General admission tickets are $10 each; children 12 and under are admitted for free.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Charleston Animal Society, Medical University of South Carolina Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, Charleston County School District Career & Technology Education programs, and YEScarolina.
