Serendipity Labs Coworking is scheduled to open its first S.C. location at the former Piedmont Plush Mill site in West Greenville in the summer.

“Serendipity Labs isn’t your typical coworking experience, just like the Plush Mill site isn’t your typical location” franchise owner Trey Scott said in a news release. “We believe the renovation and rebirth of this historic structure will be one of the most talked about developments in Greenville for quite some time.”

The mill site is on U.S. Highway 123 heading into the western edge of downtown Greenville,

Forty-five percent of its members come from well-recognized companies, 20% are startups, and 35% are independent professionals, John Arenas, Serendipity Labs’ chairman and CEO, said in the release.

Arenas said growth potential and proximity to Atlanta are key reasons Greenville was selected for the first S.C. location.

“Every city that has an office market is going to need a coworking solution,” Arenas said. “It is going to be part of the office portfolio and real estate solution for every company in the future. … We work to ensure our labs support the culture and values of our members and client companies. We are an upscale, enterprise-class network, not just another pretty space.”

Coworking space memberships include dedicated offices, team rooms and full-time and part-time coworking. Each lab has meeting rooms, private focus and wellness rooms, a work lounge, Lab Cafe and visual studios with audiovisual capabilities.

Corporate memberships have centralized billing, detailed reporting and contract portability. The IT network is Sarbanes-Oxley- and HIPAA-compliant. Swing space and long-term offices are also available, according to the release.
