The 24-unit apartment community at 160 Stuard St. was funded through the South Carolina Housing Authority’s Small Rental Development Program, according to a news release. Creative Builders of Greenville partnered with NHE Development to launch the project, which offers apartments from 752 square feet to 1,187 square feet to tenants with household incomes ranging from 30% to 80% of Cherokee County’s area median level.
“NHE is excited to begin handling management and leasing for Linden Square, which we consider to be an excellent addition to Gaffney’s affordable housing landscape,” Taylor Davis, CEO of NHE Inc., said in the release. “We have sought the right opportunities in the market for several years for a project such as this, and are pleased to work with Creative Builders, the general contractor for the community, in this important initiative.”
Each unit includes one to three bedrooms and are Energy Star certified, which means they are 20% more energy efficient than non-certified apartments, according to the release. The complex is one of many NHE Inc. affordable housing communities across the Upstate, including locations in Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson.
