More than 25 state agencies will be on hand at the S.C. Careers Expo 2020 on Monday at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Some organizations will conduct on-site job interviews at the expo, which begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Together, the agencies represent the 1,300-plus career opportunities with the state of South Carolina, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Administration.

Free event parking will be available at the convention center, located at 1101 Lincoln St. Overflow parking will be available for $5 for a half day across the street in the Park Garage at the corner of Lincoln and Pendleton streets.

Attendees are encouraged to register in advance.

Participating agencies include the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy, S.C. ETV, the S.C. Department of Agriculture, the S.C. Department of Commerce and the S.C. Department of Education. The state departments of mental health, tourism, public safety and revenue will also be represented, as will Aiken Technical College and Spartanburg Community College.

State employees receive benefits including health and dental insurance, retirement funding, paid vacation and sick leave, according to the release. More information on state careers is available online.
