SCRA has accepted two new client companies into its entrepreneurial program SC Launch — LaminaHeat in Greenville and ZVerse in Columbia.

Client companies receive mentoring and support services and may also be eligible for grants, matching funds and investments.

LaminaHeat has created a patented, thin-film, carbon-based full surface composite heating technology that allows customers to quickly and safely incorporate heat into their products. The company's solution can be integrated into bridges or walkways to melt ice and snow, flooring to heat transit vehicles, tile bathroom floors, automotive seating and a variety of other uses, according to a news release.

ZVerse has developed the first 3-D design on demand platform enabling the world's largest on demand manufacturers to offer CAD modeling services to their customers who need part files designed or modified. The company's patent pending technology provides the fastest path for converting 2-D content into manufacturable 3-D content which can be produced into parts using multiple manufacturing processes including CNC, 3-D print and injection molding, according to the release.
