A new study revealed St. Patrick’s Day was the second-largest holiday for business at small, local restaurants in South Carolina last year. The March 17 holiday beat out Valentine’s Day and trailed only Cinco de Mayo.

Womply, a data technology company for small businesses, analyzed transactions at 26,000 independent eateries across the country for every day of the 2017 calendar.

St. Patrick’s Day was the 33rd-ranked revenue day for S.C. restaurants last year, ahead of New Year’s Eve and the Super Bowl. The report showed a total sales increase of 47% and 82 transactions instead of the average of 53, with slightly lower bills averaging $37.
