State parks revenue, deplanements rise in February

State parks revenue and statewide deplanments increased in February, indicators from the S.C. Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism show.

State parks generated $2,175,991 in total revenue, a 2.1% increase from February 2017 and a 13.5% jump in year-to-date revenue from the previous fiscal year.

In other key indicators, Myrtle Beach International Airport reported a state-best 12% increase in deplanements from February 2017. Overall, deplanements at S.C.’s five measured airports increased 6.2% in for the month.

Columbia Metropolitan Airport saw a 4.1% increase in deplanements in February compared to 2017, though the airport’s deplanements are down 9.3% year-to-date.

Admission tax figures continue to be unavailable as the S.C. Department of Revenue overhauls its reporting system.
